Resistance Experiments
Elyland has introduced the ability for you to try to enhance a Creature's resistance to hits from certain other Creatures during battles. We say 'try to' because at the moment it appears that the RNG Gods are at play here - after all Elyland did name it 'Experiment'. Until we know more we have to assume that the chance of the Experiment producing a result you want is random.
So, how does it work? Read on...
Resistance Experiments
Select a Creature and scroll down - you will see a button like the one above and an indication of the resistance to which Element the Experiment is designed to try and achieve. Basically, for any given Creature, the Experiment will try to increase the resistance against hits from different Elementals, depending on whether the Creature has Shields or Swords attributes.
The game will automatically only let you select from a ‘Tier’ of Creatures available for sacrifice to the Experiment - the Tiers appear to match the current Green, Blue and Red Tiers. You will need to sacrifice 3 Creatures each time you try and run the Experiment.
Let’s explore this a little:
I have an Arcana Creature with Swords that I am going to use to battle a Wind Creature in an Arena; naturally the Arcana Creature has a type advantage over the Wind Creature. Increasing its resistance to Wind hits makes that advantage even greater (so long as the Arcana Creature has Swords).
Conversely, If I place an Arcana Creature (with Shields) to defend an Arena, it would be advantageous if my Creature has some resistance against hits from an attacking Earth Creature.
It appears that this system is intended to augment the Swords/Shields attributes, if used appropriately, and encourage sensible Creature selection (other than just the one with the highest CP) when attacking or defending.
It is worthy of note that any additional resistance is maintained if the Artifact ‘Strength Polarizer’ is used on the Creature but transfers to the Elemental resistance associated with the modified specialisation (Swords or Shields).
Infographic below shows a summary of the potential increases in resistance per Element type and Swords/Shields attribute:
